Rebrand makes waves for relocated festival

Festival of the Sea attracts crowds of 12,000 over three days. To celebrate its 25th anniversary and relocation to Southwold, Spring was asked to give the event a complete rebrand.

The new identity embraces the fishing heritage of the east coast, with a herring silhouette that reads ‘Festival of the Sea 09’. The herring’s distinctive upward hook mouth is formed in the shape of the date, which will be repurposed for 2010.

Design Week featured the new identity that adorns a range of media, including Festival of the Sea's website, print material and event souvenirs including bags and t-shirts.

"The Festival raised over £5,000 for the Fishermen's Mission – target achieved! Thanks again for all your hard work."

That Spring Thing

Spring's PR team secured the services of This Morning's resident chef, Chris Gates, to run food demonstrations at the 2009 festival.
